Therefore, synthetic polymers are easier to make devices. It is often used as a monomer to synthesize low-bandgap polymer semiconductors. For example, in 2016, it synthesized PBDD4T and PBDD4T-2F as monomers. It can be used to manufacture OPVs and OFETs.
