SMPC; PC(18:0/14:0), also known as 1-Stearoyl-2-myristoyl-sn-glycero-3-Phosphocholine, is an asymmetrical phosphocholine containing a stearic acid (18:0) at the sn-1 position and a myristic acid (14:0) at the sn-2 position. The phospholipid is a self assemble reagent which forms lipid bilayer in an aqueous solution and used to prepare liposome for delivering therapeutics, such as mRNA vaccine or anti cancer drug.
1-Stearoyl-2-myristoylphosphatidylcholine is used in the preparation method of nutritious fat emulsion for injection.
ChEBI: 1-stearoyl-2-myristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine is a phosphatidylcholine 32:0 in which the acyl group specified at positions 1 and 2 are stearoyl and myristoyl respectively. It is a phosphatidylcholine 32:0 and a tetradecanoate ester. It is functionally related to an octadecanoic acid.
