Strawberry notch homologue 2 (Sbno2) functions as a transcriptional repressor in the interleukin-10 (IL-10)-regulated pathway and suppresses inflammatory gene expression. The encoded protein plays a key role in bone homeostasis in vivo by regulating osteoclast fusion. Sbno2 is involved in the negative regulation of proinflammatory cascades. Loss of Sbno2 gene expression is associated with the development of lung cancer.
