PETROLEUMHYDROCARBONS,TOTALRECOVERABLE is an anylytical method whereby hydrocarbons are solvent extracted from a sample of soil or water. The resulting extract is passed through silica gel to remove the polar, non-petroleum fraction of the hydrocarbons. The extract is then analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons.
