A monoterpenoid alkaloid found in several fasminium species and also in
Li~ustrum novoguineense, this base has been shown to possess the structure
given from chemical and spectroscopic examination.
The fresh leaves of Syringa vulgaris contain this alkaloid. It crystallizes as colourless needles
from Et20-CHCI3. The base is laevorotatory with a specific rotation of [α]24D -29.8° (c
1.01, CHCI3).
ChEBI: Jasminine is a naphthyridine derivative.
