Sodium Surfactin is a peptidelipid composed of amino acids and fatty acids and is produced by the fermentation of Bacillus subtilis

SODIUM SURFACTIN is a cyclic oligopeptide produced by the fermentation of carbon and nitrogen sources (such as soybean meal, glucose, maltose) using Bacillus subtillis. The product is the sodium salt of the polypeptide. The individual residues include: L-glutamic acid, D-leucine, L-leucine, L-valine, L-aspartic acid, L-isoleucine and .beta.-hydroxy C12-17 branched alkanoic acids.
