H-Glu-Trp-OH, has show to have potential antiangiogenic and immunomodulating activities. It inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which may inhibit angiogenesis. This agent has also been reported to stimulate the immune response to hepatitic C virus and intracellular bacterial infections.
ChEBI: Glu-Trp is a dipeptide composed of L-glutamic acid and L-tryptophan joined by a peptide linkage. It has a role as a metabolite, an immunomodulator, an angiogenesis modulating agent and an antineoplastic agent. It is functionally related to a L-glutamic acid and a L-tryptophan.
