Cefpodoxime-d₃ is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of cefpodoxime by GC- or LC-MS. Cefpodoxime is a metabolite of cefpodoxime proxetil, a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic, that is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (MIC₉₀s = 0.015-8 μg/ml).¹
