YIP1 family member 4 (YIPF4) may function in the transport mechanisms from the endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi apparatus as a complex with YIPF3. Studies have shown th at the knockdown of YIPF4 in HeLa cells causes the fragmentation of the Golgi apparatus. It might play a role in maintaining the structure of the Golgi apparatus.
