N-Guanidinyl-2,3,dichlorbenzamide is a lamotrigine (L173250) related compound which is an anticonvulsant. Inhibits glutamate release, possible through inhibition of Sodium, Potassium and Calcium currents. Used in treatment of bipolar depression. N-Guanidinyl-2,3,dichlorbenzamide is found in the preparation of impurities of anticonvulsant drug Lamotrigine.
