HF techniques have been found to work excellently if used with bases such as
pyridine. Workers applied this to the synthesis of a range of fluoroheterocycles,for
example, 3-fluoropyridine, 2-fluoro-3-nitropyridine and 2-fluoro-4,6-dichloropyrimidine
were made in good yield.
