MK-4827 (tosylate), also known as Nipaparib, is a kind of small molecule PARP (poly ADP-ribose polymerase, a set of enzymes being related to DNA repair, genomic stability and programmed cell death) inhibitor. It is mainly used for treatment of recurrent epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube and primary peritoneal cancer. Niraparib is the inhibitor of PARP-1 and PARP-2, which is involved in DNA repair. The effect of Niraparib can cause DNA damage, apoptosis and cell death, thus killing the tumor cell lines.
