BODIPY fluorescent dyes possess advantages such as high molar absorptivity, high fluorescence quantum yield, fluorescence signal insensitivity to solvent polarity and pH, narrow fluorescence spectral peaks, long fluorescence lifetime, moderate redox potential, and negligible triplet states. Furthermore, the parent nucleus of BODIPY fluorescent molecules is relatively stable and possesses certain chemical activity, its structure is easily modified, and its absorption and emission wavelengths can be tuned to the near-infrared region. Based on these advantages, BODIPY fluorescent dyes are attracting increasing attention.
