2,6-Diamino-4-(2-fluorophenyl)-4H-thiopyran-3,5-dicarbonitrile is an inhibitor of eEF-2 Kinase, which is a potential theraputic target for breast cancer, gliomas, and depression. 2,6-Diamino-4-(2-fluorophenyl)-4H-thiopyran-3,5-dicarbonitrile is also used as a reagent to synthesize substituted 3-aryl-2-(2-thiazolyl)acrylonitriles.
