USE
An adhesive, of which there are various
types. Aqueous solutions of starch and
ethyl cellulose are used as pastes for sticking
paper; traditional wood glue is made by
boiling animal bones; quickdrying
adhesives are made by dissolving
rubber or a synthetic polymer in a volatile
solvent; and some polymers, such as epoxy
resins and polyvinyl acetate (PVA), are
themselves used as glues.
