The oxidation of low density lipoprotein is thought to be one of the first steps in atherosclerosis. The uptake of oxidized LDL (oxLDL) by macrophages activates pro-inflammatory mediators that promote disease progression. Cayman’s Oxidized LDL Uptake Assay Kit is a convenient tool to study modulators of cellular uptake of oxLDL.
