Resistoflavine is a rare, boat-shaped, pentacyclic polyketide isolated from several species of Streptomyces, often co-produced with resistomycin. Resistoflavine exhibits weak antibacterial activity against Gram postive and Gram negative bacteria. Also exhibits potent cytotoxic activity.
