Basic Blue 159 is widely used to remove undesired components from household and industrial wastewaters and also in various industrial manufacturing processes, including the removal of organic compounds, heavy metals, ammonium and phosphate, anionic dyes (reactive blue 221 and acid blue 62), phenol and lignin.
