Interferon alpha-2B is thought to stimulate local immunity against
viral infection and has been advocated as an adjunct therapy for
treatment of feline herpes keratitis. A German study has also recently
reported that topical interferon alpha may speed the resolution
of corneal sequestrum without surgery.
