- Synthesis 4,10-Dichloroanthanthrone, Indanthren Brilliant Orange GK, is prepared from 1,1'-binaphthyl-8,8'- dicarboxylic acid in sulfuric acid at 50 ?C, followed by chlorination in the presence of FeSO4 , or from anthanthrone by sparging with chlorine in the presence of iodine in sulfuric acid or organic solvents .
