  • Preparation Strontium Periodate can be formed by the reaction of periodic acid on strontium hydroxide:
    Sr(OH)2＋2HIO4→Sr(IO4)2
    A mono-hydrate of the metaperiodate, Sr(IO4)2·H2O, is generally obtained. By crystallization from a strong acidic aqueous solution strontium-tetrahydrogenhexaoxoperiodate- trihydrate Sr(H4IO6)2·3H2O has been obtained.
