  • Uses Petroleum resins are mainly used in the coatings industry, where they are used as reinforcing agents for synthetic latex coatings and are used in the manufacture of oil-based varnishes to improve gloss and adhesion. It is also used as a coating for hot-melt adhesive paper for the production of water-resistant corrugated board. Petroleum resins are used with chlorinated paraffins and surfactants to form architectural coatings, and are additionally widely used in printing inks and adhesives.
