  • Uses S-(3-Carboxypropyl)-L-cysteine is a thioether derivative of L-cysteine.
  • Biological Activity S-3-Carboxypropyl-L-cysteine is a potent and selective reversible inhibitor of Cystathionine γ-lyase th at inhibits both the cystathionine and cysteine cleavage reactions. S-3-Carboxypropyl-L-cysteine inhibits the transsulfuration pathway and H2S production in cells. It does not inhibit cystathionine β-synthase and mercaptopyruvate sulfurtransferase.
