Uses
IgG2a, Kappa from murine myeloma has been used in immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry.
General Description
The UPC 10 tumor line that produces mouse IgG2a, kappa is tetramethylpentadecane (pristane) induced plasmacytoma originated and carried intraperitoneally in BALB/c mice.
Biochem/physiol Actions
The IgG2a (immunoglobulin G 2a) plays a vital role in stimulating autoimmunity in mice. This gene is expressed at high level during virus infection. IgG2a offers host defence through activation of complement system. This antibody has specificity towards Fc receptors expressed on phagocytes and stimulates antibody-dependent cell mediated cytotoxicity. IgG2a also induces macrophage-mediated opsonophagocytosis, which has been observed in response to influenza virus and leads to its clearance from the infected cells.
