Uses
Lectin has been used in differential plating to separate Sertoli cells from the isolated cell population. It has also been used in differential plating of spermatogonial stem cells.
General Description
Lectin is present in several plants and some animals. It is a tetramer composed of identical sub-units.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Lectin identifies and binds to carbohydrate complexes that extend from glycolipids and glycoproteins. It also binds to free-floating glycans, such as monosaccharides.
