D-Galactose 1-[2-(2-azidoethoxy)ethoxyethyl]-2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetate

Synthesis

Under an argon atmosphere at room temperature, sodium methoxide (1.5 g, 27.70 mmol, 4 eq) was added to a dry methanol (60 mL) solution of D-GALACTOSE 1-[2-(2-AZIDOETHOXY)ETHOXYETHYL]-2,3,4,6-TETRA-O-ACETATE (3.5 g, 6.92 mmol, 1 eq). The resulting reaction solution was stirred at room temperature for 15 h. After the reaction was complete, the resulting reaction mixture was concentrated to 10 mL under reduced pressure, and then the mixture was purified by column chromatography using a specific resin to obtain the acetyl-de-isolated product molecule D-GALACTOSE 1-[2-(2-AZIDOETHOXY)ETHOXYETHYL]-2,3,4,6-TETRA-O-ACETATE.

Uses

2-[2-(2-Azidoethoxy)ethoxy]ethyl 2,3,4,6-Tetra-O-acetyl-D-galactopyranoside (CAS# 381716-33-2) is a stable and sensitive fluorescent probe and applications for lysosome labeling and tracking during apoptosis. As a reactant, 2-[2-(2-Azidoethoxy)ethoxy]ethyl 2,3,4,6-Tetra-O-acetyl-D-galactopyranoside has been used in the preparation of amyloid-β and tau peptide aggregation modulators.
