2-(Demethoxy)ethylthio-griseofulvin is an intermediate in the synthesis of Griseofulvin-d3, the labeled analogue of Griseofulvin (G787500), an antifungal drug. It is used both in animal and in humans, to treat rigworm infections of the skin and nails. It is derived from the mold Penicillium griseofulvum.
