15-deoxy-Δ12,14-Prostaglandin A1

Description

15-deoxy-Δ^12,14-Prostaglandin A₁ (15-deoxy-Δ^12,14-PGA₁) is a synthetic PGA₁ analog. It shares common structural features with 15-deoxy-Δ^12,14-PGJ₂, which is a ligand for PPARγ. Antimitotic and antitumor activity have been reported for a similar analog, but there are no published reports on the biological activity of 15-deoxy-Δ^12,14-PGA₁ at this time.

Uses

15-Deoxy-Δ12,14-prostaglandin A1 is a deoxyanalog of prostaglandins that inhibits NF-κB signaling and induces apoptosis. 15-Deoxy-Δ12,14-prostaglandin A1 inhibits TNF-α-induced upregulation of inflammatory endothelial cell adhesion molecule (CAM) and avoids monocyte arrest[1].
