Uses
Alkaline phosphatase conjugated rabbit anti goat IgG was used as the secondary for ELISA assays to detect the binding of bacterial proteins to C components. The antibody was used at 1:5000 dilutions and detected using P-nitrophenyl phosphate at 1mg/ml (Sigma) as the substrate.
General Description
Immunoglobulins (Igs) belongs immunoglobulin super-family. There are five different types of Immunoglobulins. Each immunoglobin have two heavy (H) and two light (L), held together by disulphide linkages. Each light comprises of one variable N-terminal region and a constant C-terminal region. Heavy chain has one variable N-terminal region and three or four constant (CH1-CH4) C-terminal region.
Biochem/physiol Actions
IgG antibodies regulate several functions such as complement activation and phagocytosis. Thus, they play a crucial role in facilitating cytological immune responses. Anti-goat IgG (whole molecule)-alkaline phosphatase antibody (diluted 1: 5000) can be used for anti-OVA IgG detection. Rabbit anti- goat IgG (whole molecule)-alkaline phosphatase antibody reacts specifically with all goat immunoglobulins.
