While the measured cetane number of 2,6-dimethylheptane (2,6-DMH) representing its global ignition quality is not available in the literature, it is estimated to be close to the nominal value for typical jet or diesel fuel (from high 40 s to low 50 s), based on measured cetane numbers of monomethyl and dimethyl alkanes of similar size
