2-(2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl)-1H-isoindole-1,3(2H)-dione can undergo a palladium-catalyzed carbonylation procedure to produce an excellent yield of N-substituted phthalimides. This compound has also been investigated for being an anti-cancer agent.
