Uses in Perfume
Has been suggested for use in perfumery,
but the pure material is not a common commercial article. Fractions from certain essential oils, rich in Elemol, are used as fixatives,
blenders or modifiers in low cost soap Wrfumes, detergent fragrances and other household product fragrances.
Elemol-fractions blend very well with Amyns oil, Guaiacwood oil, Geraniol, Amyl
salicylate, Terpineol, etc. rounding off the
roughness of chemicals, and sweetening other
materials. Overall, however, it is of very little
odor value, and it is always a problem to use
a fraction of a certain essential oil or a byproduct from same.

Production Methods

fractions.
Also from high-boiling fractions of Elemi
oil.
