Although repeatedly mentioned in perfume literature, the subject ester does not seem to have created any interest among perfumers. Its effect is too weak, its overall odor value insignificant.
Synthesis
Ethyl piperonyl acrylate is prepared from Heliotropine and hlalonic ester, using Piperidine catalyst to yield Piperonyl acrylic acid, which is esterified to subject material.
