Boc-D-Cys(Trt)-OH has been used in the total synthesis of spiruchostatin A, which is a potent histone deacetylase inhibitor; tritiated dithiobis(amino)butanesulfonic acid, its dimethylpropyl ester and aminosulfanylbutanesulfonic acid ester as prodrugs.
