Uses
Stainless steel gas chromatographic column packed with HayeSep D maybe used for the separation of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide from atmosphere at room temperature, it may also be used for the analyses water and hydrogen sulphide.
Uses
Graphitized carbon black packed in a stainless steel GC column maybe used for the analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in the environment.
Uses
Carboxen 1000 packed in a stainless steel column maybe used in the anaerobic chamber for conductance of research with methanogenic archaea.
General Description
Packed column made up of stainless steel are basically employed when higher carrier gas flow rates are employed as they can sustain elevated pressure. Stainless steel columns are usually washed with dilute hydrochloric acid, then with water followed by methanol, acetone, methylene dichloride and n-hexane in order to remove any corrosion products and traces of lubricating agents.
