Chemical Properties

The color additive turmeric oleoresin is the combination of flavor and color principles obtained from turmeric (C. longa L.) by extraction using any one of the combinations of the following solvents: acetone, ethyl alcohol, ethylene dichloride, hexane, isopropyl alcohol, methyl alcohol, methylene chloride, trichloroethylene. The oleoresin has a characteristic odor and flavor. Also see Turmeric.

Physical properties

The oleoresin is a yellow-orange to red-brown viscous liquid.
