Transparent, odorless crystals efflorescing on exposure to air or white powder; sweetish metallic taste. Soluble in water, glycerol; insoluble in alcohol. Aqueous solution is slightly acid.
Uses
In the printing and dyeing industry, Potassium antimony tartrate is used as a mordant for dyeing cotton with subtractive dyes. After dyeing with acid dyes, it is treated with a solution of antimony potassium tartrate, tannin and formic acid, which can improve the washing and soaping fastness of the fabric.It is used as a mordant for leather. The pharmaceutical industry is used as an emetic and an injection for the treatment of schistosomiasis.
