Uses
There are almost 100 different known varieties of lilies to which antiseptic and skin-clearing properties are generally ascribed. Herbalists have also credited the Madonna lily variety with soothing and astringent properties. The lily extract, obtained from the bulbs of this variety, is used primarily for its emollient, healing, soothing, and anti-inflammatory action. The extract from leaves and roots of the white pond lily variety has been described as astringent, healing, and anti-inflammatory.
