Also present in Lythrum anceps Mak., this base is the diacetate corresponding to
Lythrancepine I. It is slightly dextrorotatory with [α]20D + 7°. Two methoxyi
groups are present in the molecule, the structure having been established from
the infrared, NMR and mass spectra.
