Uses

1-Stearoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1''-rac-glycerol) (Sodium Salt) is used as an analyte for RP-HPLC for pharmaceutical relevant lipids in drug delivery systems.

Biological Activity

Lyso phosphoglycerol (Lyso PG) and acyl-CoA acts as a substrate for lysophosphatidylglycerol acyltransferase 1 (LPGAT1) to synthesize phosphoglycerol. Lyso-phospholipids are nonbilayer-forming lipids. Accumulation of lysophospholipids in bacterial membranes disrupt the membrane integrity due to its detergent- like physical property.
