Description
2-bromoindolo[3,2,1-jk]carbazole is also called ICz-Br. It can be used as a raw material to synthesize TADF emitters 2-(3-(4,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl) -2-(9-phenyl-9H,9H-[3,3-bicarbazol]-9-yl)phenyl)indolo[3,2,1-jk]carbazole (TrzCbzICz-1). As an OLED intermediate, it is commonly used to prepare highly efficient thermally activated delayed fluorescence emitters.
Uses
2-Bromoindolo[3,2,1-jk]carbazole has a fully planarised arylamine structural unit which can be weakly electron accepting or electron donating. It can be used as a host material for newly developed materials to prepare highly efficient organic light-emitting diodes.
Synthesis
Dissolve indole [3,2,1-jk] carbazole (2.40 g, 10 mmol) and chloroform (20 mL) in a 100 mL single-necked flask and place in ice water. Then, N-bromosuccinimide (NBS, 1.96 g, 11 mmol) was added in portions and reacted at room temperature overnight. Anti-Upon completion, the reaction solution was extracted three times with dichloromethane (DCM) and washed three times with water, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and filtered and spun dry. Use 200-300 mesh silica gel for column chromatography, and select eluent petroleum ether / DCM. The product ratio is 5: 1 to obtain 3.04 g of white solid 2-broMoindolo[3,2,1-jk]carbazole with a yield of 95%.
