Anastrephin?is a lactone component found in sex?pheromone blend of male Caribbean and Mexican fruit flies. It is also an?isomer of (E)-Hexahydro-(Z)-4,7a-dimethyl-4-vinylbenzofuran-2(3H)-one (H294720)?that can be used to synthesize of prolinol (an intermediate for insect pheromones).
