Uses

Direct Orange 46 can be used for dyeing and printing cotton, silk, wool and their blends.

Preparation

in reflux conditions, sodium hydroxide solution in (E)-2-(2-sulfo-4-nitrostyryl)-5-nitrobenzenesulfonic acid sodium salt with 4-Aminobenzenesulfonic acid sodium diazo with aniline coupled with product heating (40215). In reflux conditions, sodium hydroxide solution in (E)-2-(2-sulfo-4-nitrostyryl)-5-nitrobenzenesulfonic acidsodium salt with 4-Aminobenzenesulfonic acidsodium diazotization and a product matches m-Toluidine, molecular than 1:1. The proportion of 75 under heating together (40220).

Properties and Applications

red light orange. The dye soluble in water for golden brown, slightly soluble in ethanol for subtle stitching light yellow. In the strong sulfuric acid as dark blue, with golden yellow diluted. Dyes in aqueous solution strong hydrochloric acid for yellow olive brown, have precipitation; Sodium hydroxide solution in a brown light orange precipitation. Can be used for cotton, silk, wool and their blended fabric dyeing and printing, also can be used for leather and paper shading, its heavy metal salt can be used as organic pigments. Good Exhaust dyeing.
