Uses

The isopropoxy(phenyl)silane is a more efficient stoichiometric reductant than phenylsilane. When utilized, it allows the researcher to significantly decrease catalyst loadings, lower reaction temperatures and employ more diverse solvents in iron- and manganese-catalyzed Mukaiyama hydrofunctionalizations.
