Description
Lythrum anceps Mak., in addition to the above bases, yields a further seven
closely related alkaloids similar to the above series. The parent alkaloid is the 4-
hydroxy derivative of Lythrancepine I (q.v.) and is an amorphous powder having
[α]
20D + 65°. It contains three hydroxyl groups and two methoxyl groups, the
structure having been determined by spectroscopic methods.
