Synthesis
However, a recent study demonstrated that a range of substituted pyridines
reacted with fluorine diluted with nitrogen giving 2-fluoropyridine derivatives in
acceptable yields. Thus, 2-chloropyridine gave mostly 2-chloro-6-fluoropyridine.
Uses
2-Chloro-6-fluoropyridine is used as a reagent added to tert-butyl (S)-2-(hydroxymethyl)morpholine-4-carboxylate and sodium hydride in N,N-dimethylformamide, followed by warming to 60 °C to synthesize the N-Boc product[1].
