Direct Red 243

Uses

Direct Red 243 is mainly used for dyeing and direct printing on cotton, viscose, and other cellulosic fiber fabrics, as well as silk. It has excellent lightfastness and good dye uptake, but poor migration properties and sensitivity to salt. It is especially suitable for one-bath, one-step dyeing of polyester-cotton and polyester-viscose blended fabrics. It can also be used for dyeing wool fabrics and can be blended with yellow, orange, red, and brown dyes. It can also be used to manufacture lake pigments.

Preparation

3-Amino-4-hydroxybenzenesulfonic aciddiazo, in alkaline conditions and 7-Amino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid coupling, its products and 2,4,6-Trichloro-1,3,5-triazine condensation, 2-Amino-5-methoxybenzenesulfonic acid diazo, and 7-Amino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid coupling, again with the condensation products condensation, then with 2-Aminoethanol condensation
