tert-Butyl 2-(Trifluoromethyl)-1,4,6,7-tetrahydro-5H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine-5-carboxylate is used in the preparation of 3-Amino-4-phenylbutanoic Acid derivatives as inhibitors of the dipeptidyl peptidase-IV enzyme, in the treatment or prevention of diseases such as diabetes and particularly type-2 diabetes.
