Family Rutaceae is composed of a variety of trees and thorny shrubs, but within the subfamily Aurantoideae; 6 of the 28
genera are true citrus fruit trees. Of the six, Citrus may be the most important. Citrus has a berry-type fruit characterized by a juicy
pulp made of vesicles filling the segments of the fruit not occupied by seeds. The part used is the peel, either the rind or the pericarb.
