Uses
Indomethacin farnesil is a new type of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic that is well distributed in inflammatory tissues. It is suitable for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, low back pain, periarthritis of the shoulder and shoulder and neck, shoulder and arm syndrome.

Synthesis
After indomethacin is chlorinated with thionyl chloride, it reacts with 3,7,1-trimethyl-2,6,10-dodecatrienol in tetrahydrofuran solution in the presence of triethylamine to form indomethacin farnesil.
